A good friend of mine who used to live in NYC had an idea to take pictures of all of the abandoned umbrellas on the streets of NYC. After the rain that we have had the last few days, I thought it would be appropriate to bring this to life. Behold, the first of many Umbrellas of New York.

This specimen was located near my house in an area where people like to dump trash. This one has been here for some time, as it has collected some trash friends.

This lonely creature was found underneath the J train near the Kosciusko stop. It seems to have been dismembered before being discarded.

How in the world did you find so many abandoned umbrellas? Who is discarding their only shield from getting their heads all wet and shit? I HATE my head getting wet.
